Here are some great tips to help you maximize your cars gas mileage.
- Keep your tires properly inflated. Low tire pressure reduces gas mileage and increased tread wear. You can lose up to 5% of fuel efficiency for every pound per square inch below the manufacturer's minimum recommendations.
- Regular service and maintenance keeps your vehicle operating efficiently, reducing fuel useage.
- Worn spark plugs and dirty air filters can increase your vehicles thirst. A new air filter alone can improve gas mileage by as much as 10%.
- Have your tires properly balanced and keep the vehicle " in alignment" to get the best gas mileage.
- Periodically calculate your vehicle's fuel economy performance. A loss of economy could mean mechanical trouble.
